IN a rain-affected Kidderminster 2nd X1 contest at Knowle and Dorridge, the game was shortened to a 24-over match.

After losing an early wicket, two Knowle batsmen played aggressively to get their team’s total to 189 for five.

KCC started poorly, losing both openers cheaply, but a fightback looked on the cards when brothers Charlie and Lewis Stainforth came together. The loss of them to successive balls made a hard task near impossible and KCC had to settle for 140 for six.

In the Worcestershire Division 4, KCC’s third team’s clash away to Martley saw the home side put on 228 for nine in 50 overs.

Phil Pountney took five for 63 and Sam Gall three for 60 but Kidderminster’s batsmen only managed 165 for seven.

KCC’s under 10s had a decisive win against Worcester CC by 57 runs, a nett 269 to the opposition’s 211.
