BEWDLEY Town will be bidding to attract a bumper crowd at Ribbesford Meadow on Saturday when they play host to top of the table Wolves Sporting Community in the FA Vase.

Wolves Sporting have taken the West Midlands League by storm this season having won all nine league games so far.

But Bewdley have hit a rich vein of form themselves having won six of their last seven games, culminating with an 8-3 crushing of Wellington last week.

The prolific strike partnership of Lewis Pountney and John Griffin both struck twice while Ellis Stubbings, Rob Orme, Callum Martin and a Dean Price own goal all added to the scoresheet.

Bewdley spokesman Steve Godfrey said: "There's no reason why we can't beat Wolves Sporting, who've struggled a bit in their last couple of games before scraping a result.

"After a slow start, we've finally woken up and we look a different side to the one which started the season."

Bewdley's former Kidderminster Harriers goalkeeper Darren Steadman returns to the fray leaving manager Phil Mullen with a full senior squad to select from as the reserve side have no fixture this week.
