STOURPORT Swifts boss Mark Phillips says he could wield the axe following his side's FA Vase exit last Saturday.

Swifts were knocked out of the competition with a 1-0 defeat against Cadbury Athletic.

It means changes could be made as they look to end a three-game winless run at basement boys Tividale this Saturday.

The cup exit follows a league defeat against Coventry United and draw with Alvechurch.

Phillips said: "We were poor against Cadbury and three or four players just didn't turn up.

"We didn't deserve anything from the game.

"I will be making changes for the Tividale game because we must do better. The players have already shown what they are capable of but need to make sure they match those levels more often."

Swifts will now go to bottom club Tivi looking for a much-needed three points to lift them towards mid-table.

"We have to start a lot quicker in games," added the boss. "It is important we are quicker out of the blocks against Tividale if we want to take something from the game."

Stourport warmed up for the weekend with a friendly against Kidderminster Harriers at Walshes Meadow on Tuesday night.

The Reds won 4-2 on the night after Swifts has led 2-1 at the break.
