LEADERS Pockets S were the surprise losers against Pockets A in Kidderminster Snooker League’s Premier Division.

All five frames were won on the black, with the A team edging home 3-2. However, Pockets S still hold top spot despite the defeat.

Newly-promoted Chester Road are taking the league by storm after winning their third match on the trot with a 4-1 defeat of Pockets D, with Neil Chapman winning both his matches.

Last year’s champions Pockets E are not giving up without a fight as they move menacingly into fourth spot with a 3-2 home win against bottom club St John’s D, with Tom Pepperall winning both his games but it was still a tight affair going to the last game doubles decider.

In third spot we have St John’s E, who beat Cookley by three frames to two. It was James Allington who starred by winning both his matches.

In Division One, Wribbenhall are this season’s surprise package they moved to top of the league with a resounding 4-1 thrashing of new boys Pockets G, Graham Bott and Sebastian Lewis both collected two points apiece.

St John’s C dropped in to second when they lost to St Georges 3-2, with Aziz Riaz and Matt Addleton winning two frames apiece.

New team Three Lions are finding their feet by winning away to Workmans A 3-2, with Geoff Unitt picking up two wins. Pockets C won 3-2 away to Legion as Arek Ziemkiewicz won in style.
