STOURPORT Swifts boss Mark Phillips says his side must take their chances if they are to get what they deserve from games.

Swifts lost 1-0 at Walsall Wood last Saturday despite having the better of things for the majority of the contest.

A host of missed opportunities ended up costing them once again when a penalty mid-way through the second half handed Walsall the points.

Phillips said: "We have bossed the game apart from the first 10 to 15 minutes at the start of the second half.

"We have had the opportunities but not taken them. We have then been caught on the break and conceded a penalty that I'm not sure should have been given.

"But if we take our chances that wouldn't matter. We have ended up missing three chances from six yards out late on as well."

However, Swifts go to basement boys Brocton this Saturday and Phillips thinks it's only a matter of time until everything clicks into place for his side.

"I'm confident that if we keep working hard and sticking to our style of play, which is all about keeping the ball, then it will turn," he added.

"The goals will come because we are playing well at the moment."

Stourport will follow up Saturday's league game with a home clash against Pegasus Juniors in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup next Tuesday.
