THERE were more podium finishes for Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club riders in the second round of the West Midlands Youth Series of circuit races promoted by Mid Shropshire Wheelers.

Archie Bentley secured a second place finish in the under 8 boys race which moved him up to third in the overall classification.

In the under 10 boys race Max Hinds' fourth place finish promoted him to third overall while sixth place for Billy Bentley moved him up to fourth in the overall standings.

Aimee Lane improved one place on her previous result finishing third in the under 14 girls which promoted her to second place overall.

There was no junior race at this meeting so 16-year-old Craig Hardiman raced in the senior men's fourth category event finishing in a respectable fifteenth from 41 starters with Stewart Ball just out of the medals in fourth.

In the first round of the LVRC Percy Stallard road race series at Walton in Leicestershire Joe Rowe and Ken Bradbury were involved in a close finish placing second and fourth respectively in the over 65 category.

Rowe followed this success with victory in his age category in the Pinvin road race.
