KIDDERMINSTER athlete Jacqui Phillips defied her age to take the overall title at a prestigious competition.
The TRiKS club member took part in the 50-54 age catagory at the European Duathlon Championships in Spain where she completed a 5k run, a 20k bike ride and a 2.5k run.
She was the fastest female competitor by more than four minutes and won not only her age group but also the rest of the field to take overall gold.
She is now training for the world championships which take place later this year.
