RYAN Field enjoyed another match winning performance for Kidderminster CC 2nd Xl for the second week in succession, taking five wickets and scoring 65 not out.

He came back for a second spell to finish off Smethwick’s century maker Sajid Kapadia, for 112 with a catch for Phil Pountney.

Tight bowling from youngster Josh Tidmarsh 26 off 9 overs also helped keep the visitors total under control and with 3 wickets from Andy Logan and 2 from Chris Mills, Smethwick were 212 all out in 37.4 overs.

Kidderminster surpassed the match-winning target in 44.2 overs of the 45 over game, with the loss of 4 wickets. Opener Sam Beadsworth was unlucky to go with a high lbw call on 29, Phil Pountney kept a steady ship to score 21 with Mike Wardle (37) and Harry Carter (36) playing decisive roles. Skipper Paul Edwards finished on 4 not out, being deprived of the winning run when he was forced to duck for a no ball.

KCC’s 3rd team took a winning draw from Worcester CC, narrowly missing capture of their final wicket to finish 288 for 5 against 191 for 9.

Highlights included Harry Dickens (85), Skipper James Williams (65), Bradley James (51) and Matt Davies (48 n.o).

There was some excellent bowling from Kidderminster with George Davis 3 for 65 off 17, Adam Davis 1 for 35 off 14, Luke Mahon 2 for 36 off 8, youngster Matt Hatfield 2 for 13 off 3, Curtis Parker 1 for 20 off 5 and teenager Will Hyde 0 for 8 off 3.

Kidderminster’s 4th team enjoyed an emphatic win by 130 runs away at Worcester CC, scoring 191 all out in 41 overs.

In reply, they finished off the home side for 61 all out in just 20 overs.

Highlights included Simon Trickett (65) and opener Andrew Reeson (49). Junior Finley Tibbetts took a stunning 6 wickets for 14 runs in 6 overs with 2 maidens. Aaron Dalton also enjoyed excellent figures of 3 for 2 off 3, ably supported by fellow teenagers James Sheldrake 1 for 16 off 4 and Rhodri Morson 0 for 29 off 7.

The Sunday 2nd XI game was conceded by Bewdley, who were unable to field a team due to their quarter final game in the National Village Cup Worcestershire Group 13, which in the event Bredon CC conceded.
