TEENAGER Blaze L’Enfant is riding the wave of success as one of the country’s best up and coming flowboarders after a double win at the North East’s annual UK Flow Tour competition.

It was a strong result for L’Enfant, who took first place in the junior and adult categories in Redcar last weekend and bagged an unexpected fifth place in the pro division. Flowboarding sees surfers compete on an indoor, static wave generator.

The competition was attended by some of the UK’s best flowboarders including the current European women’s number one and men’s number two.

L’Enfant’s wins follow an impressive competition run over the course of the last 15 months where he has been crowned ‘Best of the Best’ by Royal Caribbean last year and Junior Flowboard champion at the Welsh National Open Flowboard Championship in Cardiff in September and the ‘Best of the Best’ with Royal Caribbean again in Miami earlier this year.

The Kidderminster youngster, who rides for Team Bedford, is now looking forward to the UK National and European Flow Tour Championships in Cornwall in September where he will compete against riders from Europe and the USA to obtain his first official UK and European ranking, where success could provide an opportunity to represent Europe at the World Flowboard Championships in Singapore next year.
