WYRE Forest CRC riders had a successful evening of racing at the Ely RC promoted circuit races at Stourport Sports Club with three riders gaining sufficient points to progress from a fourth category rider to a third category.

Best placed was Susanna O'Shaughnessy who won the ladies mixed category event after a race long dual with Fiona Turner which was settled in the sprint for the line.

In the fourth category race, Harry Leake placed fourth and Andrew Draper fifth in a bunch sprint, both riders securing enough points to move up a category.

The West Midlands Youth Circuit Series at Stourport produced several podium finishes for Wyre Forest riders.

Max Hinds was first in the U10 boys and Archie Bentley third in the U8 boys with Aimee Lane and Kinga Ingram taking first and second places in the U14 girls.

In the Lichfield CCC youth races, Archie Bentley scored his first win in the U8 boys race while Max Hinds placed second and Billy Bentley eighth in the U10 boys category.

In the British Cycling Youth National Circuit Race Championships held on a 2.3 kilometre course around the streets of Milton Keynes, Kinga Ingram made a bid for victory in the U14 girls age group with four laps remaining, but was hauled back by the chasing group.

However she made one more attempt to win on the final lap, but was overtaken by a fast finishing group in a bunch sprint and just missed out on a medal.

In local time trials, Stuart Walker and David Briggs set personal bests in the Ludlow CC promoted 10 miles time trial with times of 21.22 and 23.41 respectively with veteran Mick Gray setting his fastest time of the year of 30.21.
