KIDDERMINSTER and Stourport Triathlon Club's head coach Jacqui Phillips secured an age-group world championship win in Rotterdam.

She competed for Great Britain at the World Triathlon Championships last Sunday in the female sprint event in her age category.

Phillips became world champion after holding off strong competition from Maria Powell, also from Team GB and the World Aquathlon Champion, and Juliet Hochman, who took bronze for Team USA.

The Kidderminster athlete has had an amazing season winning National Sprint and Olympic titles in triathlon, European triathlon and duathlon gold medals in Spain and Düsseldorf, World Duathlon silver in Canada and now the big final in Rotterdam.

Caroline Cresswell also competed for TRiKS in the women's event with Jacqui Phillips and finished in a fantastic position of 11th overall from 96 competitors from across the world.

This was her first world championship event representing GB.

Dave Bennett competed in the men's 55-59 age category and had an amazing race, just missing out on the podium with a fifth overall position from 95 other competitors from all over the world.
