STOURPORT Hockey Club's ladies will look to return to winning ways after defeat to Swansea last week.

The ladies first XI travel to Old Hawks for a noon hit back in the National League West on the back of a 2-0 loss.

The club's men fared no better last week, they went down 2-0 away to Litchfield. Both goals were scored in the first half before the home side pulled down the shutters to keep Stourport out.

The ladies second XI's unbeaten run in the Midland Division One came to an end when they travelled to top of table Nottingham University.

The university's first XI were 6-1 winners and their tally would have been higher but for Stourport goalkeeper Jess Bridle who made some outstanding saves.

Stourport found themselves 3-0 down at the break and although they altered their formation were unable to prevent the home side from adding another three goals.

Lucy Hawkes got the consolation goal for Stourport.

Stourport's ladies fourth XI lost away 3-2 to Harborne fourths in the Worcestershire first division.

There was better news for Stourport's ladies fifths who beat visitors Tenbury firsts 1-0 in their Worcestershire Division Three match at The Kingsway.

There was little to choose between the teams, the hosts created plenty of chances to take the lead but were unable to find a killer touch in front of goal.

Tenbury created chances of their own but a well-drilled Stourport defence meant that the opposition was unable to capitalise.

Stourport forced a breakthrough on the stroke of half time from a penalty stoke struck into the goal by Kathryn Thomas.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first and the home side held on for a win which takes them back up to third and drops Tenbury back down to fourth.
