BEWDLEY Town’s eight game unbeaten run has come to an end after a mixed week of results at Ribbesford Meadows.
Town started the week in a strong position, brushing aside Dudley Sports in a 3-1 victory.
After being 3-0 up at one stage in the match, the home side allowed Sports – who are languishing at the wrong end of the table – a single consolation goal.
It was a different story on Tuesday night however, as Malvern Town – who are chomping at the bit for a place in the top six – were the visitors.
Bewdley couldn’t reproduce the form which has seen them go undefeated in both league and cup since a 4-1 home defeat to Wellington, losing the match to their league rivals 6-2.
Town are now clinging onto fourth spot in the Midland League Premier Division table, just a single point ahead of Malvern, who also have two games in hand over Phil Mullen’s men.
The side will look to get back on track as they face a trip to face AFC Bridgnorth on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
