THE challengers for the title in the Marston’s Bewdley League are starting to emerge.
With a convincing 5-2 win against The Black Boy, Rising Sun A share top of the table with their B side.
The Red Lion suffered their first defeat against an inspired Bowling Club, going down 5-2.
There was a good result for Waggon & Horses A, who got the better of Social Club A 6-1. The Black Boy Hotel claimed their first victory of the campaign with a narrow win over Waggon & Horses B, running out eventual winners at 4-3.
The derby between both Horn & Trumpet sides saw the A team take the honours with a 5-2 win over the B side.
Social Club B recorded a convincing 6-1 win over The White Swan to lift them off the bottom of the table.
The league has secured sponsorship from Hire It of Kidderminster for The Shadow League. With major sponsorship also secured from Marston’s, the league is in a strong financial position and looking forward to an exciting season.
