TRIATHLON: Emma Hornby, from Triathlon Kidderminster and Stourport (TRikS), was the only representative from the club at the Wombourne sprint event.
She completed the 400 metre swim, 20 kilometre bike ride and 5km run in one hour, one minute and 51 seconds to win the women’s race easily and finish 21st overall.
Other team members were out in force at the British Club Relay Championships, which saw them tackle a 500m swim, 15km bike and 5km run in Nottingham.
The mixed team of Alex Thorley, Graham Thorley, Jacqui Phillips and Charlotte Whorton put in a great performance to finish 14th overall in 3.32.23 while the men’s team of Thorley, Paul Bailey, Tim Spilsbury (debut) and Jason Dimmock put in a fast time of 3.25.56.
There was a very close battle between two other men’s teams with Mark Phillips, Simon Humphreys, Rob Reynolds and Tony Muir in 3.50.35 just out sprinting Steve Moore, Ian Dickens, Alex Nicholl and Paul Hughes by three seconds.
The women’s team of Caroline Cresswell, Amy Waring, Alison Dunn and Lenka Moore also did very well with a time of 4.05.45.
