Strong Hunt showing in TT

WYRE Forest CRC’s Phil Hunt claimed 18th place in the Echelon/VTTA 10 mile time trial.

In a 100-strong field which contained some of the Midland’s best racers, Hunt clocked a time of 22 minutes 35 seconds over the course near Alcester.

Fellow club member Andy Convery was 12 seconds further back in 25th spot, while Adrian Manning was 29th and Dave Wood 39th.

David Prior, still recovering from his efforts in the Ronde Picardy sportive the previous week, finished a commendable 66th in 27.45 with Mick Gray beating his standard in 80th place with a time of 29.07.

Race winner was John Simpkins of the trade team drag2zero with 19.55.

Prior was not the only Wyre Forest rider to take part in the Ronde Picardy as Ken Bradbury and David Prior joined him for the 187-kilometre ride along the the lanes of France.

Bradbury finished in 347th place in 5.48.33 while Cook and Prior were an hour further back.
