Kidderminster Carolians 29, Bedworth 7
KIDDERMINSTER Carolians powered to their third league win on the spin to maintain their 100 per cent home record and move up to third place in Midlands Two West (South).
The Marlpool Lane outfit took the lead early on when centre Laurence Hughes broke through the tackles he scored a try which was then converted by Chris Pinner.
KCs were piling on the pressure and went 14-0 ahead when Andy McLellan cut through and touched down. Pinner kicked the extras.
Superb scrummaging and good work on the floor soon kept KCs on the front foot and the relentless pressure eventually told when McLellan seized on a loose ball and strolled over unopposed for his second try, which was again converted by Pinner.
Bedworth had the better of the final 10 minutes of the half but their most threatening attack was snuffed out by full-back James Whitehouse and KCs went into the break with a 21-0 cushion.
Early in the second-half, Pinner stretched the advantage to 24-0 with a penalty before the visitors responded.
After McLellan was yellow carded at a ruck, Bedworth pulled a converted try back to give them slight hope.
But McLellan then completed his hat-trick on his return with an unconverted try in the corner.
KCs have now racked up six bonus points in six games.
On a largely successful day for KCs the seconds went down narrowly 33-26 away to Halesonians, but the thirds won 37-5 at home to Halesowen fourths.
The fourths won 45-7 against Willenhall at home.
