STOURPORT Men took advantage of two home games with comprehensive victories over Formby (4-1) and Leek (7-0) to propel themselves to fourth in National League Division Two South.

They dominated the Formby fixture and opened up a 3-0 half-time lead through Imran Yousaf, Dave Westhead and skipper Phil Lashford.

Formby came out fighting in the second-half but Dan Packwood and Ben Snell stood firm at the back and Lashford made it four before the visitors' late consolation.

Stourport continued where they'd left off with a brilliant attacking performance against Leek. Lashford led the way with a hat-trick while Mark Moss (2), Craig Hunt and Packwood completed the rout.

The Stourport defence kept their first clean sheet of the season in what is hoped will be the turning point in their stop-start campaign.

They will be hoping to take their home form on the road with their next two fixtures away at Nottingham and Harrogate.

Kidderminster Men are still rock bottom in the DTZ Midland League West Midlands Premier Division after a 10-2 walloping at Wednesbury. Phil Williams and Paul Edwards got the goals which amounted to little more than consolations.

They will be hoping to bounce back when they host fellow strugglers Sikh Union Coventry on Saturday. Captain Chris Pocknall said: "It's a strong league and we've been suffering a few injuries and problems but we're hoping to improve."

Chaddesley Corbett men lost 3-0 at leaders Kynoch in the DTZ Midland League West Midlands Division Two and host mid-table rivals Barlaston on Saturday.

Stourport Ladies moved to within one point of the leaders in Midland B Division with a thumping 5-1 away win at Leicester. A brace from Jodi Vincent and goals from Vickie Whitehouse, Kerry Walker and Fran Moss were enough to seal victory. Stourport travel to Kettering on Saturday with Sophie Harris available.

Kidderminster Ladies suffered a 4-2 defeat at Droitwich in Worcestershire Division Two with their goals coming from Amy Grove and Jody Guest. Kate Jones was their star player. They host Stourport at 11.30am on Saturday.
