SOPHIE Allan produced a brilliant display during the South West Gala at University of Bath to qualify for the British Championships.

The Wyre Forest Trampoline Club member, 22, will now take on the country’s best at the National Indoor Arena. Allan has maintained her high level of training while also studying at Bristol University in veterinary.

She has been training hard since the last British Championships in order to qualify for the FIG B level by improving her form and the difficulty of her routines.

After two routines she had gained the second highest scores for difficulty and time in flight in her category to secure 11th place overall and ensure she will be competing at July’s national tournament.

Meanwhile, the club savoured a huge success at the West Midlands tournament in Walsall this month, with many of the members excelling at higher grades.

Sophie Jancey, 14, had an excellent competition in the grade F under-15s category after having a year out due to injury.

She competed two solid routines to take second place and just missed out on qualification for grade E.

Frankie Blincoe-Deval competed for the first time in grade E after qualifying at the last competition in Shrewsbury and outstripped her own expectations with the runners-up spot.

In the grade F under-13s section, Gemma Rowsell, 10, gained a personal best score, while in the under-15s, Lauren Bell and Emily Connolly just missed on grade E.

The trio of Anna Vesper, Maisie Maund and Ella Manning finished second in the under-15s. Vesper was runner-up in the individual category.

Ella Dew, competing in the under-11s grade G, was edged out into second place but qualified for the next level.

Georgina Knott was fifth in the under-15s, while Lucy Blount obtained a personal best.

There were also encouraging debuts for Holly Rowsell (grade H under-11s) and Andy Parkes (over-15s grade H).
