HARRIERS have further strengthened their ability to treat players by linking up with a Kidderminster doctors surgery. The Aggborough outfit have joined forces with Aylmer Lodge, based on Hume Street.

Players will be able to visit the surgery and call upon the expertise of Dr Adam Cole to help treat illnesses or ailments sustained while playing for Harriers.

Doctor Cole said: “There are a number of injuries and problems which we will be able to help with.

“I believe that several non-league teams nationally have a similar link-up informally but this will strengthen the club’s ties to a local surgery.”

Harriers already boast a strong medical team, with physiotherapist Gavin Crowe, sports massage therapist Sarah Williams and Dr Nadim Aslam as orthopaedic consultant.

However, their set-up with doctors has been changed after club doctor Kevin O’Connor suffered a cardiac arrest in November last year. Aylmer Lodge is based in the state-of-the-art Hume Street Medical Centre after moving from its previous home on Broomfield Road in October last year.

“After Kevin’s illness meant he was unable to continue, we decided to look at a different way of doing things and this link-up with Aylmer Lodge is ideal,” said Crowe.

“The facilities are state of the art and we can be confident we have strengthened the medical expertise at our disposal to help the players.”

Dr Cole will also be one of the GPs on rotation for match days at Aggborough.
