Bewdley claim a superb medal haul

Golden girls: Bewdley’s Ella Shepherd, Hattie Blackmore, Catherine Neilson, Sian Hinton and Ellie Hinton at the West Midlands trials.
JUNIORS from Bewdley Rowing Club won an impressive haul of medals at the West Midlands Regional trials in Worcester.
The Wyre Forest club won five gold, two silvers and one bronze over a success weekend.
The girls’ crew of Sian Hinton, Catherine Neilson, Hattie Blackmore and Ella Shepherd, coxed by Ellie Hinton, dominated the junior 15 event to take the gold and progress to the nationals in Nottingham.
Gold medals were also won by the boys junior 18 quad of Jack Chase, Matt Blackmore, Jim Tildesley and Callum Clifford, boys junior 13 crew of Jake Main, Charlie Cartwright, Cameron Chuter, Ben Charlton and cox Callum O’Reilly, as well as the junior 17 scullers Tom Gough and Amy Riley.
There were silver medals for the girls eight crew, which was made up of 16-year-olds Georgia Kelly, Beth Chase, Ellie Payne, Sophie McCafferty, Emma Connor, Ellie Alexander, Laura Saich, Alicia Gulliver and cox Rhianna Hinton.
Grace Cox, Sophie Evans, Victoria Williams and Kiah Bradley and cox Hinton were second in junior quad. There was also a bronze medal for Ellie Alexander, Alicia Gulliver, Emma Connor and Beth Chase in the junior 16 quad.
