Disappointment for Pountney and Thomas

CHESS: Kidderminster’s Terry Pountney and Paul Thomas travelled to Newcastle-under-Lyme to represent Worcestershire for players graded under 120 against Staffordshire.

Pountney drew his game but Thomas was beaten in a heavy 9½-2½ defeat for Worcestershire.

In Division One of the Worcester and District League, Kidderminster Pawns lost 4-0 at home to Redditch.
