JUSTIN Walters was in sparkling form for Wyre Forest CRC as he recorded two wins in as many days.

The rider was fastest in the club’s circuit race at Stourport, which was sponsored by Clarks of Kidderminster, with an impressive display which left his opponents trailing several hundred metres behind.

Ken Bradbury found the early pace too hot, but eventually finished in a creditable eighth place.

The second, third and fourth category race ended in a bunch sprint with Ewen McDonald taking both the prime and the overall win and James Jenkins placing seventh.

Paul Darby was Wyre Forest’s leading third category rider, finishing in eighth place.

Walters continued his good form when he won the Midweek Championship by a narrow margin from Andy Overton and a much-improved Ian Connolly.

Fastest on the night were the tandem pairing of Chris Morris and Phil Hunt, who circulated in a swift 21 minutes and 31 seconds, while Dave Brown teamed up with Gary Jones to finish seventh in the Ludlow CC two-up 10 miles time trial with a time of 23-37.

Several WFCRC riders contested the Shirley RC 50 miles time trial which incorporated the club's championship for the distance.

Fastest for the club was Morris with a time of 2.03.22.

He was followed by Dave Wood on 2.04.40 and Connolly on 2.09.54, but Hunt was forced to retire with a puncture four miles from the finish.

William Pedersen enjoyed his best result to date with fourth place in the under-14s Mid-Shropshire Wheelers 10 miles circuit race at Sundorne.

In a leading group of seven, entering the last lap, Pedersen just missed out on a podium in the sprint for the line.
