Stourport slip further into the mire

STOURPORT were soundly beaten on their trip to Netherton after being bowled out for 117 in Worcestershire League Division Two.
Andy Siwicki was the pick of the Stourport batting with a top score of 32.
Netherton took to the 36th over to overhaul the Stourport total for the loss of just two wickets.
Defeat leaves the second from bottom side 44 points behind Coombs Wood with five matches left to escape relegation.
On Saturday, Stourport entertain Enville and take on Tenbury away on Monday (both 1pm start).
The seconds edged out Netherton by one wicket in a tight finish to get a firm foot hold in the second promotion place.
Mark Guest’s 4-45 and 3-21 from Spencer Colley helped bowl out Netherton for 161.
In reply, Stourport looked to be heading for a possible defeat before an excellent 28 from 16-year-old Ethan Lockwood saw Stourport to victory.
A stunning 116 from Ian Osborne could not stop the thirds from taking the losing draw against their Stourbridge counterparts.
Batting first, Stourport looked to be in trouble at 55-5 before Osborne took the Stourbridge bowling apart hitting 12 sixes in his 116 to take Stourport to 238-9.
In a rain affected reply Stourbridge settled for the revised winning draw total finishing on 225-9 from 47 overs.
Stourport fourths had to settle for the losing draw against Stourbridge.
Batting first, Stourport scored 109 all out and Stourbridge reached a revised winning total of 103-9 from 41 overs.
