Jacqui stars at Shrewsbury

TRIATHLON: TRiKS member Jacqui Phillips was in great form at the Shrewsbury Triathlon.
She flew around the 500 metre river swim, 23 kilometre bike ride and 5km run to finish first lady in a very fast time of one hour, ten minutes and 18 seconds.
Mark Phillips competed well to record 1.23.10 while Dave Hughes did the quadrathlon which had a challenging canoe leg added, he finished in 2.22.35.
Emma Hornby was first lady at The Wombourne pool sprint (400m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) in 1.03.50 while Steve Hatch made a good improvement despite getting stuck behind a tractor on the bike leg to record 1.09.35.
Six other members tested themselves at The Newbiggin sea sprint, which was a qualifier for the European Age Group Championships next year.
Tony Muir was first back for TRiKS in an excellent 1.13.45 and Graham Thorley finished fifth in his age group with 1.15.44.
Paul Bailey was not far behind in 1.16.15, Lenka Moore did well carrying an injury in 1.23.29, Rob Reynolds was sixth in his age group with 1.28.14 and Anna Price finished in 1.32.09.
