HEAD coach Ian Bletcher has called on his Kidderminster Carolians players to finish the season unbeaten at home.

KCs welcome Banbury to Marlpool Lane in a battle of the in-form Midlands Division Two West (South) sides on Saturday (2.15pm ko).

The Carolians will be keen to avenge a 26-5 defeat in Oxfordshire earlier in the season.

But while KCs are second in the table and two points behind leaders Earlsdon, Bletcher is focusing on the details.

He said: “We’re not thinking about where we finish in the league.

“The two aims I have set out are to stop any team doing the double over us and to finish the season unbeaten at home.”

KCs have won the last five matches at their base and have three more left to play there.

Andy McLellan is set to start on the bench after recovering from a rib injury sustained against Old Coventrians, with Jordan Hatch continuing to deputise.

Bletcher was also hailing the partnership of Jake Evetts and Mitchell Hardwick.

He said: “There are two of the most exciting players in the league at the moment.”

With the firsts not playing after their friendly at Ludlow was cancelled at the weekend, the seconds took on local rivals Stourport and won 29-10.

Stourport opened the scoring with a try and continued to dominate possession and territory for 20 minutes.

But Mark James touched down to level the scores.

Henry Cook then broke the visitors’ tackles to score under the posts for a try which he converted himself to give the home side a 12-5 lead.

Matt Bingham then crashed over and Cook added the extras.

Alex Thompson and Ross Ashcroft bagged tries for KCs, while spirited Stourport scored their second late on.
