GAVIN Hurren insists Kidderminster are desperate to make amends for their FA Trophy first round collapse when they travel to Vauxhall Motors for the replay on Saturday.

Hurren was grinning from ear to ear after smashing in a spectacular winner in the 1-0 Conference victory over Cambridge on New Year's Day.

But despite their impeccable league form in recent weeks, the defender-cum-midfielder still feels down about Harriers' 4-4 draw with Vauxhall in December.

"I'll never forget how I felt after the first game against them and I know a lot of the lads are still upset about it," said Hurren.

"The result was embarrassing and that's no disrespect to Vauxhall Motors, but we were 3-0 up and comfortable. We should have won it.

"Fair play to them, they got back into it and they deserved a replay.

"It's up to us to make sure we go through now."

Hurren took his tally to the season to three with the 30-yard screamer which overcame Cambridge - and he is still buzzing about the strike.

To be honest I still don't remember how it came to me," he said.

"I just remember picking it up, taking a touch and thinking let's test the keeper'. It was only his third ever start so I thought I'd have a pop.

"When I hit it and watched it go I thought it was going in but as I thought that it bent a bit and hit the post.

"I thought for a split second No, please don't come back out' as I was already turning away to celebrate.

"Luckily it's gone in. I couldn't believe it."
