SWIMMING: A pair of senior men from Wyre Forest won seven medals between them at the Staffordshire Masters.

Steve Moss and Dave McMahon were in fine form when representing the district in a variety of swimming disciplines in Wolverhampton.

Moss, in the younger age group of 40 to 44 year olds, gained a second place in the 200m freestyle.

He also sealed fourth in the 50m breaststroke and took two fifth places in the 100m individual medley and 100m breaststroke.

McMahon, competing in the 50-54 year old category, was in fine form and achieved three first and second spots.

He raced to victory in the 200m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly.

Mahon also secured runners-up places in the 50m breaststroke, 100m individual medley and 50m backstroke.

Both have been training with the newly revitalized masters section of the club which meet at King Charles School pool on a Thursday from 7.30-9pm.

The sessions are also at Stourport Leisure Centre on a Sunday from 5pm to 6.30pm for slower swimmers and 6.30 to 8.30pm for faster swimmers.
