Phoenix trounce lowly Studley

First published in Sport

WYRE Forest Phoenix recorded a 9-3 win over Studley in the West Midlands Women’s Division One South.

Chelsea Mudge, Vicky Hyde and Kirsty Roberts bagged a brace apiece, while Kat Meredith, Kirsty Jone and Molly Maguire also found the back of the net.

In the Hereford and Worcester Girls and Women’s County League, Phoenix drew 1-1 at AFC Worcester.

Mel Knott fired them ahead, but Wyre Forest paid the price for a host of missed chances when Worcester equalised in the second half.

The Under-10s saw off their younger club-mates Wyre Forest Phoenix Raiders 8-1, with Jasmine Whitmore bagging all eight goals and Isabelle Gibbons scoring for a consolation the Raiders.

The Under-14s outgunned Solihull Moors Vixens 5-2, with Georgia Akers (2), Connor Reeves (2) and Caelen Gower on target.

Elsewhere, the Under-17s lost 12-0 to Droitwich Spa Lions.
