CHELSEA Mudge was the hat-trick hero as Wyre Forest Phoenix defeated Malvern 3-2 to land the Hereford and Worcestershire Women’s County Cup on Sunday.
Wyre Forest had the edge in a hard fought goal-fest.
Mudge bagged a brace to ensure Phoenix went into half-time with a slender 2-1 lead, while Molly Maguire saw a good chance go to waste.
Malvern were unlucky not to equalise when they hit the bar, but they finally levelled it up in the 73rd minute.
But Mudge then lobbed the keeper in extra-time to seal the silverware.
The cup success saw Wyre Forest bounce back from their 5-1 final loss to Here-ford Pegasus last year.
