STOURPORT claimed their first derby victory of the season in the Worcestershire County League Division Three as they trounced Cleobury Mortimer by ten wickets.

Having won the toss and electing to field, Stourport’s bowlers took wickets at regular intervals, William Downes the pick of the early attack with 2-21.

Skipper Craig Siwicki’s introduction saw him mop up the tail with 4-23 to bowl out Cleobury for 109.

With rain clouds looking ominous Siwicki (64no) made the decision to open the batting himself to force an early victory. Spencer Colley contributing 32 not out as Stourport romped to victory in just the 10th over.

This Saturday Stourport take the short journey to Chaddesley Corbett (1pm start).

The seconds recorded a fine Division One win at Evesham.

Evesham struggled against the opening attack of Tom Neath (3-24) and Josh Tristram (3-27) as they were bowled out for 123.

An excellent 53 not out from Ethan Lockwood and 29 not out from Ian Delo saw Stourport to an easy victory in the 25th over.

In Division Five, Stourport thirds beat Hallow first team by seven wickets, with Mark Gleeson (3-31) and Sam Hayes (75no) impressing.
