KIDDERMINSTER-based archer Naomi Folkard had a successful weekend at the Kendal Bowmen’s two day field shoot on a challenging site in Cumbria.
The three-time Olympian, who shoots with the local Saints and Sinners club, is an experienced international field archer and last year won gold in the World Games.
Archers shot the 24 target FITA rounds, with unmarked distance on the first day and marked distances on the second. The course was difficult with some tricky targets, but weather conditions were reasonably good.
Folkard shot 360 and 334 for the unmarked and marked courses respectively, giving a combined total of 694. This put her well ahead of Emma Downie (Edinburgh University) on 543 and June Houghton (Keswick) 174.
Folkard said: “ I have had a really enjoyable weekend’s shooting and am pleased with my scores.”
She will be shooting in the second leg of the World Cup.
