TRIATHLON: Wyre Forest’s TRiKS had a one-two finish at the Battle of the Sexes race.

The Lisbon event, which gave women a 14 minute head start, was won by Jacqui Phillips.

She was followed by clubmate Sam Anderson to become the first two female competitors to finish on the podium in this event.

Meanwhile in Majorca, Graham Thorley was first TRiKS athlete home finishing in ninth in his age group, followed by Lenka Moore (4th veterans Lady), Caroline Cresswell (5th veteran lady) and Steve Moore (24th in age group).

Alison Dunn came second in her age group in a five kilometre race in Florida.

Matt Thomas finished 17th overall in the BRAT triathlon in Lichfield.

Mark Russell competed in the Crowle 10km in 17th place in a time of 37 minutes.

l Meanwhile, TRiKS have secured a sponsorship deal with well-known local firm OGL Computer.

The club, through the work of member and OGL employee Matt Thomas, secured £500, which they used to buy each athlete a technical training top worth £30 and pay for a special training day.

TRiKS chairman Mark Phillips said: “This is a huge deal for the club.

“OGL are one of the biggest employers in the area and also have a history of supporting local clubs like Kidderminster Harriers.”
