KING Charles School had a fine tournament at the Worcestershire County Cup.

Out of six age sections, they had three teams reach finals, with the school securing double success at Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough ground.

In the Under-13s girls’ category, King Charles thrashed Stourport High School 5-0 to get their hands on the title.

The Under-14s boys saw off St Augustine’s from Redditch 3-0, but the Under-16s boys were edged out 2-1 by Nunnery Wood.

The Under-16 squad wore their Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity shirts in support of Under-13s manager Becky Giddins, who is raising money for the good cause.

The Under-14s team have had a fine season, winning not only the County Cup but also Wyre Forest League.

They have also progressed well in the ESFA National Cup, where they reached the fifth round.

They had defeated Walsall Academy, Baxter College, Madeley Academy and Prince Henry’s School to make the latter stages.

Their cup adventure ended after they lost 1-0 at the hand of St Peter’s RC School, from Gloucester.

Captain Joe Billingham bagged 15 goals in the first four games.
