CYCLING: Veteran Ken Bradbury produced some excellent results in LVRC races at the weekend while riding for Wyre Forest CRC.

On Saturday he competed in a circuit race at Stourport Sports Club over a race distance of 40 minutes plus five laps.

In a leading four man break he was pipped on the line in the usual sprint finish and had to settle for second place.

The following day, he was in action in a LVRC road race promoted by Coventry RC over a distance of 50 miles.

With two riders away, Bradbury was left to fight for third place, but in another sprint for the line he finished in fifth place overall.

In the latest round of the Wyre Forest’s Midweek TT Championship, a hardy dozen riders braved the dismal conditions to post some excellent early season times on the Ryeland Lane 10 miles course.

Fastest by just three seconds was Andy Convery from Justin Walters who had a margin of only six seconds over trade team rider Phil Blacker.

Midweek time trial championship results: Andy Convery 22-34; Justin Walters 22-37; Dave Meacham 23-16; Jon Howard 23-35; Steve Vanes 23-42; Stuart Walker 24-02; Oliver Rolinson 24-41; Brad Bradley 25-30; David Briggs 25-59; Luke Mason 26-32; John Smith 28-49.
