WYRE Forest Company of Archers hosted another success tournament.

Eighty competitors from across the Midlands took part in the event.

Senior competitors were required to shoot a Western round of four dozen arrows at 60 yards and four dozen at 50 yards.

Top scorer for the hosts was Scott Potter, who took the silver medal with 96 hits in the gents compound category.

He recorded 854 points from a possible 864.

Lindsey Brazier secured silver in the Ladies compound with 96 hits, 77 golds and 826 points.

In the Gents recurve, Dave Brazier was seventh with 739 points and Jason Finn in only his third competition was 28th with a creditable score of 400 points.

Penny Neaveson took the gold medal in the Ladies longbow with 75 hits, five golds and 359 points.

Junior archers were required to shoot a short Junior Western again consisting of eight dozen arrows, but at distances of 30 yards and 20 yards. Top scorer in the Junior Ladies recurve was Lauren Turner, 10, a pupil at Burlish Park Primary School, who won the under-12s gold medal with 95 hits, 35 golds and 677 points.

Clubmate Jasmine Simpson was third with 92 hits, 18 golds and a total of 556 points.
