JUSTIN Walters was in good form for riding for Wyre Forest CRC.

He set a personal best of 21 minutes and 30 seconds in the Bromsgrove Olympique 10 miles time trial, while finishing in sixth place behind winner Matt Clinton on 19-27.

He was followed home by Jon Howard in ninth place in 21-56 and Andy Convery in 12th in 22-00. The trio secured the second team placing just six seconds off the winners.

Lucy Walters took six seconds off her previous best time finishing 57th in an entry of 103 riders with a time of 24-50.

The next weekend Walters improved his personal best again with a time of 21-16 for fifth place in the Redditch Road and Path Club’s 10 miles time trial on the popular Salford Priors course.

Howard also improved on his previous best time, finishing eighth in 21-43, as did Walters, recording 24-22 for 27th place from 76 riders. Convery also set a new personal best in the Shirley RC promoted 50 miles time trial when he recorded 1-56-02 for fourth place.

Dave Meacham was one of several riders to be sent off course by the marshalls, but despite stopping to discuss the error with the officials, he set off and did an extra loop to make up the distance and still recorded a time of 2-00-41 in his first race at this distance.
