CYCLING: Justin Walters continued his run of good form with excellent results in both club and open time trials last week.

He set the fastest time in VC Sevale’s midweek 5.5 miles event with 11 minutes and 48 seconds, followed by Lucy Walters in third place with a record breaking ride of 13-38.

Also enjoying their rides were Rachel Handley (18-47) and Claire Turner (20-42).

Justin Walters was also a comfortable winner of Wyre Forest’s midweek time trial championship with the improving Steve Vanes second and Jon Howard third.

However they were all outclassed by Sam Williams, taking a break from his continental race duties with professional team NFTO, who finished with a time of 31-43.

The following weekend, Walters finished third out of 120 riders with a time of 21-30 in the Worcester St Johns CC promoted 10 miles time trial.

His wife came 61st ( 24-58) and Turner recorded 35-27.

In the midweek circuit race, former WFCRC rider Phil Blacker won the third cadet race, with Shaun Hickinbottom 6th in the bunch sprint for the final podium place.
