GOLF: A tilt at glory awaits amateur Richard Young and his Bewdley Pines PGA professional Mark Slater as they bid to reach the Lombard Trophy grand final being staged at Gleneagles.
Young teed up a chance to tread the fairways of the King’s Course at the famous Scottish resort between September 3 and 4 when he won his club qualifying competition with a score of 41 points.
He and Slater now advance to the regional final at Coventry Golf Club on Thursday, July 17, where they will compete against up to 70 other clubs.
Slater has been a professional at Bewdley Pines for five years and is Worcestershire PGA captain.
