BEWDLEY Motorcycle Club ran the second of their three round series of Beginners and Clubman Trials at the popular Shatterford venue and they were once again rewarded with a bumper entry.

The riders competed over a four lap, eight section course and the plotters once again provide a brilliant circuit.

Competing on the harder of the three routes, Bewdley club member William Stansbie (Beta) and Nigel Spronson (Gas Gas), could not be separated at the finish, both completing the event, losing only one mark each.

But it was schoolboy Stansbie, who took the winning position, by means of the tie break.

Third place was claimed by Kidderminster’s James Pickering (BSA), who cast away his two mark total on the second section, observed by former works trials rider, Norman Crump.

Local riders Josh Bawden (Gas Gas) and Bob Jones completed the top five, again being separated by only a single mark.

The Clubman route provided a three-way battle for the top podium spot, between Dave Taylor (BSA), and father and son pairing of Bob and Guy Taylor.

But at the finish of the event all three could not be separated, all having the perfect ride of not losing any marks.

Nick Beddoes threw away his chance of becoming the fourth rider to go clean, when he lost his solitary mark on the very last lap.

In the beginners, Rob Fortune, Andrew Richardson and Tom Deely had perfect records.

Steve Calcutt finished in fourth.
