STOURPORT edged out Alveley by one wicket to move into second place in Worcestershire County League Division Three.

Stour skipper Craig Siwicki (6-66) helped restrict Alveley to 225 all out from 47 overs.

In reply, Stourport lost both openers without score, but Ryan Delo (76) proved the difference between the two sides.

Lower-order batsman Gavin Bryan (34) provided valuable support, as did Siwicki (23) and Ethan Lockwood (22) as Stourport edged to victory three balls into the 50th over.

Stourport go to Avoncroft on Saturday (1pm start).

Stourport thirds defeated Barnt Green’s third team on Saturday.

After bowling out Green for 148, Mark Gleason hit 91 runs as Stourport powered to a nine-wicket success in the 30th over.

The fourths also saw off Barnt Green by 87 runs to remain top of Worcestershire Division Five.

Peter Harrison (59) and 35 not out from Bob Pittaway enabled Stourport to declare on 222.

In reply, 3-23 from Matt Roberts and 4-28 from Richard Foley saw Stourport to an impressive victory.
