CYCLING: Fresh from his holiday in the French Alps, Wyre Forest rider Justin Walters lost no time getting back into race mode finishing in 10th place with a time of 21 minutes and 18 seconds in the Realteam.co.uk promoted 10 miles time trial.

However, wife Lucy was in even more devastating form taking over 40 seconds off her previous best performance with a time of 23 minutes and 44 seconds for second Lady and 45th overall from an entry of 91 riders.

It was business as usual at last Wednesday’s midweek time trial on the Pearl Lane course with Justin Walters winning in a personal best time of 33-54.

Steve Vanes kept up his run of good form finishing runner-up with a time of 34-29 while Jon Howard maintained his push for a medal with third place in 35-24.

This weekend Wyre Forest CRC will be hosting the final round of the West Midlands Youth series of circuit races to be held on Saturday morning at the Stourport Sports Club. With well over 100 riders already entered some fast and close racing is expected over all the age categories.
