STRATFORD TOWN 1, HARRIERS 1

CHEY Dunkley headed a second half leveller as Harriers recorded their second pre-season draw of the summer.

A strong side took on Stratford on a splendid pitch and with the sun beating down, Nathan Blissett caused plenty of early problems inside the opening quarter hour as he had a couple of efforts blocked.

Midway through the first period, Jack Byrne's run through the centre allowed Marvin Johnson a chance on goal as he forced a save, before Blissett planted another towering header wide.

Not long after the half-hour, Stratford took the lead from the penalty spot.

A defensive mix-up left Danny Lewis in a pickle and after he was adjudged to have fouled Tyrone Fagan, the Town marksman dusted himself off to dispatch the spot-kick with style.

On the stroke of half-time Harriers had two good chances to level, first as Blissett drove over the bar and then Byrne again in amongst the action as he worked himself space to shoot, a rising attempt tipped away well by the goalkeeper.

The visitors had grown into the game and needed just seven minutes in the second half to make it 1-1 when Dunkley headed Johnson's corner into the back of the net.

Harriers continued to pepper the Stratford goal in the second period. Reece Hales struck off target soon after the hour when placed to have done better and, 10 minutes later, Josh O'Keefe saw a low shot well held after he picked up on a Reece Styche's cross.

In the final ten minutes, Styche might have scored himself as he narrowly arrowed a free-kick just wide of the target from around 28 yards, Ahmed Obeng as then denied with a late defensive block.
