STOURPORT’S promotion hopes in Worcestershire Division Two suffered a setback as they endured defeat at the hands of Cleobury Mortimer.

Batting first, they were bowled out for just 170 in the 32nd over.

Sixty from Spencer Colley and 52 from Chris Parry weretrethe only highlights of the innings.

Despite an excellent 6-48 from skipper Craig Siwicki, Cleobury took victory in the 34th over for the loss of eight wickets.

This weekend, Stourport will look to bounce back as they host the in form Chaddesley Corbett (1.30pm start).

Meanwhile, the seconds sit proudly at the top of Division One as they enjoyed a high scoring victory over Evesham.

Batting first, Evesham amassed 278-8 from their 50 overs.

Adam Sellick (3-76) and (3- 71) from Mark Guest the pick of the Stourport attack.

In reply, Karl Baker hit 75 before James Cook (36no) took Stourport to a five wicket victory with nine overs to spare.

Stourport’s thirds were thrashed by an impressive Kempsey first team. Kempsey blasted 377-5 before declaring after 41 overs. In reply Stourport were shot out for a paltry 62.

The fourths easily beat Kempsey seconds, with five wickets for Peter Harrison.
