BEWDLEY Town’s players have one more chance to try and impress manager Phil Mullen ahead of the new season, when they entertain Evesham United in their final pre-season clash on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

New boss Mullen is still assessing the squad before the West Midlands Premier commences on Saturday, August 9, at Ellesmere Rangers.

Mullen said: “At this stage I am not sure who is in my starting XI for Ellemere Rangers but there’s still time.

“We’ve got players returning from holiday and it may take a few more games before the team settles down.”

Town suffered a 3-2 defeat to Littleton on Saturday, with Rob Orme and Tom Bishop hitting the target.

On Tuesday night, Bewdley had looked competitive for most of the game against Stourport Swifts but shipped two late goals in the 4-1 loss.

“I was disappointed for the players because there were a lot of positives but we conceded late goals,” said Mullen.

“They came from errors that are easily fixed remedied.”

Admission into Saturday’s clash is £2 (all concessions).
