GARY Whild was pleased to see Harriers complete their preparations for the 2014-15 season in the Vanarama Conference Premier with an emphatic win over SkyBet League Two side Cheltenham.

Goals for Nathan Blissett, Jack Byrne and Craig Reid ensured an eye-catching 3-0 victory.

Harriers have had a tough pre-season but with just one defeat to Championship side Birmingham, the signs are looking good on the pitch.

Whild said: "If you look back on the week we've played well against a Championship side in Birmingham and good sides like Shrewsbury and Cheltenham.

"We thoroughly deserved to win and I thought the lads did well."

For the second game in a row, free agent Kevin Nicholson played for Harriers.

Whild admitted he is interested in signing the experienced left-back.

He said:"Kevin is a good player, like I said, you don't want to be disrespectful because at the moment he has come to get some games.

"In all fairness he's as keen as mustard and he likes the look of the lads.

"To be fair to him he did well again and he's an experienced player.

"It would be naive of us not to explore that option but until we speak to him I don't want to talk out of turn."

Harriers start the season at Lincoln City next Saturday (3pm ko).
