STOURPORT are in danger of getting sucked back into the relegation dogfight after a crushing 5-0 defeat at neighbours Bromsgrove Rovers.

With just one point from their last five games, and matches against high-fliers Stourbridge and Woodford United looming on the horizon, Swifts are in desperate need of points.

Boss Phil Mullen drafted in former Kidderminster Harriers striker Stuart Payne but the battle had been lost by the time he made his debut from the bench with rampant Rovers four goals to the good.

It looked like being a close-fought tussle but the game turned just before half-time with the dismissal of Stourport defender Neil Manton.

The centre half had been Swifts' star man but picked up a second yellow card on 38 minutes, arguing over a penalty decision following Richard Langford's challenge on Mark Taylor.

Kevin Banner duly dispatched the spot kick and veteran midfielder John Snape then bagged a second on the stroke of half-time.

Rovers added to former boss Mullen's misery in the second period with Nathan Lamey heading a third on 55 minutes before Chris McHale bagged a fourth midway through the half.

Payne and fellow debutant Nathan Walker were sent on in the final stages but Lamey was still able to round off the scoring with his second two minutes from time.
