SAMURAI Judo Club starlet Darcie Hancocks was in imperious form at the West of England Open in Swindon.

The youngster took the gold medal for the third consecutive year with maximum point wins in all five of her contests and even taking the time to try out some different throws.

The organisers also allowed her to have some contests in the next weight category up for practice.

She clocked up another three maximum point wins out of three there as well to seal a satisfying tournament for the gifted young player.

It has been a success few months for Hancocks, who has won silvers at the Scottish and Kent International Opens, as well as bronze at the prestigious Venray International Open.

She is also one of the country’s top ranked performers in her age section.

Sian Bobrowska added silver medal in her category, losing to an old rival in the final but giving the girl a much closer contest than previously.

Hetty Tinsdale and Nathan Gallacher added bronzes.

Gallacher was unlucky, having beaten the eventual gold and silver medallists but then losing a contest he would normally expect to win.
