Wellington 2, Stourport Swifts 3

Karl Fellows struck a last gasp winner to send Swifts through to the next stage of the FA Cup.

It looked as though a midweek replay would be needed to separate these two sides until the midfielder netted four minutes into injury time.

An even first half saw John Griffin go close for the visitors while Wellington’s Aaron Morgan had a shot saved by Swifts keeper Brendan Bunn.

Stourport started the second half the better though and after some good approach play from Michael McGrath and Gary Walker, Griffin saw his shot deflected for a corner.

The breakthrough came on 59 minutes. A poor clearance from the Herefordshire hosts was gathererd by Hyde who picked out Walker and the Swifts skipper powered his shot into the net with the help of a deflection.

Wellington, from the West Midlands League, levelled on 83 minutes through a Ben Thomas header but the visitors were back in front within a minute, Griffin finding the net following a Luke Morris cross.

There was more drama to come when the home side hauled themselves level on 90 minutes, Morgan scoring following a goalmouth scramble.

But the final word went to the visitors who snatched their late winner when a long ball forward from Ashley Parsons-Smith was controlled by Griffin and Fellows fired home.

Swifts now face a tough trip to Evo-Stik Division One South high-fliers Leek Town in the next round on September 13.
