CYCLING: A bumper number of riders descended on Stourport Sports Club to take part in new coaching sessions last week.
British Cycling have started weekly coaching lessons for senior and junior men and women on the road race circuit, with the initial session attracting 50 riders from across the Midlands.
Members of clubs from Wolverhampton to Evesham and Malvern to Solihull were in attendance for a tough two hours of training and advice under the guidance of Nick Yarworth.
With the circuit now having an upgraded lighting system, riders will be able to enjoy a safe, traffic-free environment over the entire course.
Some riders found the going a bit too strenuous and may not complete the full 20 weeks the sessions are due to run, so there will be room for anyone else wishing to join.
Anyone interested in getting in the saddle is welcome to attend the sessions.
Those attending must bring a roadworthy bike and suitable clothing in order to participate, and must also be members of British Cycling.
The sessions start at 7pm every Thursday with signing on at 6.45pm.
